Jasper Headed On Down Times Trail

Where He Crossed The Rainbow Bridge

Sept 3 2010

He had turned 15 years old in May

I know now I have a friend waiting for me a few years down the road

The last year has been hard for him not being able to run outside

But the back legs just gave up, on the last day his body just

Shut down on him and he couldn't stand or walk

He was bright and happy right to the end

Dr. Anette Heaslet and her staff at

Litha Springs Veterinary Care

Were truly super in their care, with

their help the last year was happy

and not full of pain

For Jasper and I

Thank You everyone for caring

The picture above was taken a few months ago

you can see he was a happy, much loved old dog

He sure is going to be missed

His page here will stick around for awhile and I'm sure

Jasper is going to get a poem along side Tuffy's

On This Page You Will Find Some Dog Talk

Hello, I'm Jasper a Schipperke dog and live with my person in Ashland, Oregon, USA. My persons name is Jim he is my best buddy. He lets me go in the car with him on the weekends. I pretend I'm a car guard dog when we stop and park. So don't put your hand in my car if you like your fingers.

Take a look at his page and check out some of his poems. He lets me sit in his lap and help with the poem writing sometimes. I like to play with the computer track ball by clicking the buttons. Sometimes this makes Jim kind of mad at me. Then I jump down and chew on my bone and play dog for a while.

If people could only be more like us dogs

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Let others know when they are invading your territory.
Take naps and stretch before rising. Run, romp and play daily.
Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.
Be loyal. Never pretend to be something you are not.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle him or her gently.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout ... run right back and make friends.
Delight in thesimple joys of a long walk.
